I will tell you a little about ammo.
No.1 I think I have some USGI steel cased carbine ammo somewhere, I would not even shoot that in my carbine.

No.2 I worked at a brand new indoor range about 8 years back.11 stalls indoor, Prism training system state of the art HEPA air system. The place is open 3 months and the air system starts to fail.$2500 in filters it is up and running.3 Months go past again $2500 in filters. After $10,000 in filters for the first year.We figured it out.Outlaw the ammo in black steel cases. Year two total filter bill $2500.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I have 500+ surplus GI bullets, primers, and a good bit of W296, but can't find .30 carbine brass anywhere. I've already loaded all the brass I have. Midway says "no backorder" on Win and Rem brass, and claims to have Magtech coming, but the date has been extended over and over. I don't think anyone is making it; they're too busy cranking out .223 and 9mm....

I just came back from a road trip to Yellowstone. Went through 6 states and checked at least 3 to 5 gun stores or shops in each state. Calif, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyo. I did not see any .30 carbine ammo. and only three guns all import marked from $500 to $800
