What year was it made?
I cut down some 38 special cases to fit it. Its the 38 colt short ,761 case length.
Is their some loading data for this old round?????

Slug the barrel to find the proper diameter. You may find it needs a .361 bullet. I buy .360 diameter bullets and am working up a load using Trail Boss powder.

Looks like a `37 vintage.

barrel sluged .355
I made a mandrel in my lathe to slip a 38 special over it and hold it in place with the live center. Using a negative rake high speed cobalt steel lathe tool. I cut them to .751 to .761.
With the .355 bore I am using a lugar carbide die to size and decap.

I'm a little late to this thread. There is some load data for the .38 Short Colt in Nonte's Guide to Cartridge Conversions: a 130 gr. lead bullet with 2.0 grains of Bullseye and a 145 grain lead bullet with 2.5 grains of Bullseye.
Any reference that I have seen to this cartridge notes bullets at 0.361. That 0.355" bore....that is from land to land?
