New low for George
It looks like he "Photo Shopped" the 3:00 dot out of the butt plate.
If someone is dumb enough to buy it, I wonder what they'll get?

Since I do not know, what is the significance of that dot missing or being there. Thanks....

The missing dot @ 3:00 identifies an early Rock-Ola butt plate.
The're harder to come by and therefore bring a premium price.

Freshly made....
Notice how only the hard to find....High $$ butt plates are showing up.
Look at picture #25 here and you'll see a brand new Underwood butt plate,
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=134087685
And here is a BRAND NEW butt plate being offered but no picture,
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=135364574
And there was this one.......not a scratch or dent on it. No grime on the inside, Questionable stamp,

Anyone seeing a pattern here?

The checkering on the PM-IP butt plate looks better than any GI butt plate I have ever seen. I also like the SW marking on the bottom of the oiler.
This guy is fun.

Charlie: You're right on that PM-IP buttplate: that stamp caught my eye as "wrong" the second I saw it, even with-out seeing the seller.
Mr. Ricca: excellent observation, sir: The checkering IS absolutely perfect! And, "if it's too good to be true"...

I believe this has come up before, but refresh my memory. How does a guy with a A+728 rating with only 3 negative feedbacks rate such trash-talk?
Can we assume that the vast majority of his stuff is authentic or are there plenty of uneducated purchasers out there that don't subscribe to these type of threads?
How do some of you feel about a purchaser, knowing what it is, re-selling the same item for profit?
I have a feeling this goes on...

Don't know about other situations but here's what happened to me with Old George.
Several years ago he advertised for sale a "Complete Winchester Garand
Trigger Group". I bought it, when it came in only the Housing was Win, everything else was SA. When I contacted him, and sent his original ad, he said I could return it for refund. Well, I told him just let me return the internals and he send me Win internals. NO, he wouldn't go for that, it was return it all or nothing.
Rather than go through the hassle, I just said "to heck with it". He GOT ME, once, but he never got me again.
I suspect that's how he gets a lot of guys, when they discover they been had, they just say they won't deal with him again. Unfortunately, there are suckers being born every day.
