Ammo Can Question
This ammo can has been in our family for over 60 yrs. My father and his three brothers all WW2 vets. They brought home lots of stuff, and I believe this can. I thought it was lost, but I recently found it in my barn. I can remember when it looked new, I seem to remember it had some stenciling on top that might have said .30 cal. carbine but am not sure. 15 round mag. won't fit but 10 round might fit, I don't have one to try. It used to have a black felt in the top and bottom of both containers. I think it would hold 30/10round mags. Can anybody shed some light on what it is? Thanks.....Frank

Looks something like a old GI Engineers Transom box my Father had. He used it as a tool box on one of his tractors.
Wish I could be more help.

Thanks Charlie, boy it might be my imagination but I recall something about ammo and this can. I used it for farm stuff when we actively farmed, kind of wished I didn't but that was then.....Frank

If there is a clip on the end, it might be a belt canister for an M1919 MG. Some vehicle mounted Brownings used similar cans with closeable covers that clipped onto a tray on the MG mount.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!
