Hi Folks! New member here checking in. I've been collecting milsurps for about eight years now and I'm also an active member of gunboards and AR15.com with the same user name. Hopefully I can add some informative input here and gain some knowledge also.

New to the forum. Found it looking for information on Garands & M1A1s. Lots of good things to review & read. Collecting Garands, M1A1, Finnish M39s, Arisaka 38 & 99, Russian, FN49s, Mausers, 1903 & A3s, and FN FALs.

Just found this place.

I'm an old coot from Texas. USN 'Nam vet and lover of loud things and sharp things. My collection of old guns has dwindled over the years. About all I can do now is say stuff like, " I had one of those." One I haven't gotten rid of nor will I ever get rid of is Uncle Homer's M-1. It's a keeper.


Uncle Homer forgot to give it back to Uncle Sam at the end of WWII. He carried it through the Pacific campaign as 2nd Class Radio man and SEABEE. He got killed the year I was born in 1952. It's 100% 1942 and complete as issued except for the bayonet.

Happiness is a warm Garand.
