M1 Garand with "A" stamp
I have a WWII M1
Garand that was rebuilt after the war and it has a stock without any markings except an "A" on the underside front portion of the pistol grip. Does anyone know what this means?
Thanks,
Jarrod

FWIW the only one I've seen was on a papered O-65 Navy Trophy Rifle...only other stamp on it was a non-serif P inn a circle.
