German Pecar Sniper Scopes on Enfields.
Does anyone know which model and spec of German
Pecar scope was used on some of the Israeli No4 "T" sniper rifles.

Enfield Enforcer's had the 4-10 Pecar Model V2 - S Telescope. Here is its Technical Data
Length 355 mm
Weight 455 gm
Magnification Variable - 4X to 10X
Field of View at 100 metres 4x - 31 ft
6x - 24 ft
8x - 18 ft
10x - 16 ft
Object Glass diameter 50 mm
Eye relief 80 mm
Reticule Interchangeable - 16 patterns available.
It was only fitted to Police Enforcer's not military rifles. I dont belive it was ever used for military as its probably not robust enough for dragging it into battle.L39 and L42's didnt have them. As to value there is one for sale on the internet today for...........wait for it .................£600 in good condition and one much older and been used well for £400. I can tell you its one of the best scopes made. Mine is superb. Quite a rare scope far harder to get then a No.32
For more info speak to
Alan De Enfield, he really knows his stuff about Enforcer's, also see his posts about Enfield Enforcer's
A good web site, the only web site about Pecar's is
Eagle Hurst Sporting | Pecar Berlin
Also see
index.htm
Web site on Enforcers/scopes but a bit out of date now.
Hope this helps !! Neal

Here's the quote about the selection process for the enforcer scope (no details at all about alternatives, if indeed any were really tried):
In. selecting a suitable telescope for use for police purposes in conjunction with the L39 AI rifle, we narrowed the field down to two "Pecar'' telescopes.
Details are as follows:
Model - Magnification - Field of View at 100m - Length - Weight
11 S - 4X - 31 feet - 305 mm - 360 grammes
V2 S Variable - 4X to 1OX - 31 feet to16 feet - 355m - 455 grammes
Either of these telescopes is suitable for police work., Both are robust, and use steel, not light alloy tubes. All Pecar scopes have an interchangeable reticle system which permits any of sixteen different types to be used. These are simple to interchange, and we understand that zero is not lost in the process. A suitable mountingwould be required to fit either of these sights to the rifle, our enquiries revealed two alternative types of mounts for these sights.
From the Home Office declassified document pertaining to enforcers.

I wonder who bought the remaining replacement parts, reticules and scopes from Pecar when they closed down a few years ago. Does anyone have a clue?
