Using the British canvas sling for shooting purposes.

Is it feasible? By removing the sling from the rear sling swivel I figure that i can create a loop for my left upper arm that woudl be attached to teh front of the rifle at the muzzale at the same sling point an 07 or GI sling would be. does anyone shoot like this? did anyone ever shoot like this? and if not was the canvas sling ever used for shooting stability and how?

so it's not feasible at all, even if you shorten it as much as possible with the front loop, to make it tight enough from upper arm to front sling swivel?

Yes, Newcastle, I've been using a Brit P/08 web sling to make a hasty sling for years. It'll work just fine. And it's plenty tight to accomplish its intended purpose.

You can make a single-point sling from the mid-band, and this works quite well. P'37 slings are very good as target slings - nice and grippy on the upper arm.

Perfect muffett Thank you. Wou;d you recommend (from the pics on the left) the middle on (double point target config) as teh most effective?
