Spotted this on good old eBay...
The No.53 tube is larger than the No.32 and the reproduction scope mount won't even clamp around it properly. Hence it sits proud and is probably crimping the scope tube if tightened down too tight.
Im guessing the high price is just to buy the tin as the scope and mount don't work together without serious modifications. The scope and mount are not really worth much more than £150.
