It was well padded and comfortable
We used to watch you troops with your comfortable suspension system with jealousy...mind you scads of pouches that seemed bulky though. If we'd had that system, our "Gentlemen" would have thought up a kit list to completely fill every space. Then when you get to the field, there's no room for ammo...

Occasionally during a BDE Comd inspection, and a gas drill would be given...there'd be the odd moldy orange or black sandwich come flying out onto the parade square...so it wasn't just you guys fitting stuff in.
