The old forum was easier to use and find past posts. I guess we were spoiled.
Well after 30 years of collecting carbines I still find or read about something new or interesting on the board. Also Charlie reports weird stocks, Marcus reports new humpers. Everyone crys about M-2's having to be thrown away. Someone finds a gun put away for 50 years that is untouched. Things do still come along. Just not as often as before. Just a reason to report everything and see where it goes.
Personally I'm waiting for a new "War Baby" book to talk about.
Then waiting to retire and move to a state that allows fully auto guns.
Are they going to have another big Birmingham Carbine exhibit? I would love to try and make one of those.
I hate the plastic Matel guns. Give me a Thompson, BAR, M3 Grease Gun, Sten gun, M-2 Carbine anytime.
But I don't miss Seth!!!

Personally, I like this format & site better than the other. Even though I posted rarely, every day I would scan and read most of the posts, including this site.
The old forum had a hiearchy of certain members that dominated the replies with their input, however relevant. Here, everyone started out on a more equal basis and find it refreshing to see others contributing to information on carbines. Don't get me wrong, when Brian Q speaks, I listen; but it's nice to read others opinions.

The OLD CULVERS SHOOTING forum was terrific,it was a place to meet people, learn things and ask questions. Maybe its the change of the forum itself, because its different. It sure isnt the same place anymore. Thats for sure, I used to come here a dozen times a day and read all of them. donb in fl.

I also liked the old forum but this one is much easier to use and that includes posting photos. You don't need to post one and then hit reply and post another and so on etc. One posts posts all the photos.
From what I'm reading, some folks are just resisting change. A common thing when one gets used to one way of doing things. I'm probably the most guilty of that with at least this exception.
I guess everyone has choices, they can either except this forum the way it is or excerise your right to not log on to it. But if you do decide to participate in it, lets suport it and not complain about it. Ray

If I wanted change I would have voted for Obama. Look what's happened to us and the idiots that did.
OK Inland44, hows that for stirring the pot? That was your initial post,

Like I said, everyone has choices. But voting or not voting for Obama is kind of a stretch though in relation to posting on this forum. I don't think many of us will like those changes but they are beond our personal control, Ray
