I use a Lyman Neck Expander "M-1" die. I cannot find the same model on the Lyman site. The advantage of this die is that the expander button is screwed in, so it is possible to fit other sizes or turn one to your own specification.

Oh, yeah! Forgot to mention that most of my neck sizing is done using the Redding "S"-type neck sizer with the titanium nitrided bushings. The bushing used is selected so that the expander ball will just barely pull on the downstroke. Keeps from overworking the brass. Don't know if it particularly helps accuracy, unless having known "good" cases last longer reduces a variable or two.

Lyman still has a lot of the old items and parts for them in stock. Send an e-mail to customer service for what you need. I just received a part for a Lyman Bench Rest Micrometer seating die that I bought over 20 years ago, and at no charge!

I guess I must have an odd die from a set!

I am just starting to load 303 but have been loading fat 30s in Mosin Nagants for years. What i have learned might apply to 303. I have three Moslin Nagants that shoot .308 bullets well. Two of the nagants have .312 bores and one has a .310 bore. Undersized HPBT bullets did not do well at all. Undersized plan base bullets shot well and SP bullets even better. 165 gr .308 sp and IMR 4064 did real well and R15 wasn't bad either. The R15 did real well with 125 gr .308 sp bullets and 123 gr .310 FMJ. My #4 mk1 has a two groove barrel that slugs out at .315. I am going to try .312 plan base SP bullets and if they don't work out i am going to cast some bullets to fit the barrel.

Have you tried to get the barrel "slugged" as in getting the internal dimensions measured by forcing a lead slug up the barrel to get the internal dimensions?

I have loaded many with 3031 and even a limited amount with Rx15. Only neck size and use Sierra Match King bullets with good results. Have some reloads in my son's locked ammo chest and will have to see if I used a different powder with those.
Just bought 350 + or - once fired brass from a friend so good for a few years now.
Have also used H414.

Reason: Added another powder I have used
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

Neck expander = Lyman M-die. also used for loading cast bullets.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!
