A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Thought it odd, as well, until I realized that it DID have an old number roughly ground away. N92 brackets are pretty "flat" on the LH side.

The pic of the N92 is not the best. In looking at the mount, its a great deal clearer than in the photo. As for the rough marks, it looks like someone may have scrubbed what looks like the remnants of the suncorite off it as there are some minute patches of the paint that remain. I am no expert on the mounts by any token, or the rifles for that matter, but in the few that I have seen, it does appear to be be a real T mount.

I of course defer to the experts here on the site. I m sure they know significantly more about the matter than I do.

Than k you Brit. I was quite surprised my bid won it. Was expecting it to go for significantly more.

The universe was on my side on this one.

I meant to say "N92 brackets". The "N92" itself raised no concerns. Sorry for any confusion!

Looks perfectly legit to me. Somone got a little creative with the stamping, but so what? I doubt there was any specification about stamping the numbers in a straight line. Well done, you got a good buy while everyone was busy Xmasing.
