j, I agree it looks fine as is and at this point would be happy to own my first in almost any shootable condition. I'm finding that the ones I see in ruff condition are way over priced because the seller thinks its old age is enough to justify that price. I'll keep looking.

The slide on the above pistol appears to be a Springfield, with just a trace of the eagle on the right side.
