Here's another gun from the same seller. It's serial number 6296xxx, barrel dated 10-44.
I have determined that the bolt and rear sight are incorrect, and now I know from Shadycon that the front sight is wrong too. I'll attach pictures. What do you think of the barrel/receiver combo in the paratrooper production scheme?

My book say's front site can be marked 'R', again the stock has had a type 2 or 3 barrel band on it.

Is the 10-44 barrel date correct for a 6.2 s/n? Just curious, I had a 12-44 Inland once and IIRC it was in the 5.8 or 5.9 range.

The barrel on the first has had a bayonet lug on it. You can see the finish difference. The second barrel isn't as conclusive, but appears that it may have had one, requiring further investigation, but since the stocks have type II, III impressions you can assume they've been changed. The quality of the wood looks exceptional compared to many I see selling. The stamps are very crisp.

Thanks for sharing those great pictures. I have a 4,92 and it has a type 2 band and a 12-43 barrel with no barrel shadow of a band with a lug. Hope this helps

That sounds right. My 4.927 has a 1-44 barrel and Type II band.
