    Believe it or not I did actually get this item completed, after being side tracked numerous times, back to it's original spec. I had to settle with the paint closest to the original that I have among my various shades of khaki/drab green/brown. I added the missing markings as best as I could using a paint pen.

    My way of doing woodwork, not being a woodworker by trade, is to measure 3 or 4 times, cut once and to work slowly and carefully.

    The 2 redundant holes in the ends were filled with hand cut wooden pegs glued in place and then sanded off level. This was because I was using recycled wood.
