Wow! Reminds me of a very simliar lamp that occupied the "reading corner" in our old deer cabin for longer since before I was born. A WWI GEW98 with one of those "butcher" type bayo's.
The cabin was built in the late 40's by the "doughboy" that brought the rifle home and his son who was a vet from the "next" war. I became part of the group in the late 60's. I recall often sitting under that lamp while reading the latest hunting and fishing tips that you could get from those issues of Field & Stream dated 1952.
That is neat. I think I would leave it as a lamp even if I was able to find a correct bolt. How much were they asking for the british one?
