I'm sorry that you took the reply wrong
I don't use "Forum techniques" I was just pointing out some things that I'd learned, which you do as well. I respect your opinions and have asked you for them in the past. I say "Thanks" because we are supposed to be more civil to one another on this forum.

I know some didn't agree with Bubba re-finishing his carbine, bit I have to say I'd have done the same to a finish like he had. I can't abide the spots of rust and extreme worn look. If there's no provenance then I think it needs done. After all, it's now had some parts added to make it correct, we see that all the time. I think it looks great. Now...that newer stock...

Some folks may not know that the finish can take on a green hue as it ages. Probably because a lot of guys mostly see imports and rebuilds that have already been refinished. Or some left alone with worn original finishes.
Let's not get on each other over this point.

Please explain to me how refinishing a worn out M1
Carbine that has little to NO finish hurts the value of the rifle. I would like to know because I see alot of comments on how desructive it is to a rifle.

Well silence is a good way of saying I don't know what I'm talking about.

Paul, I have heard throughout my collecting life that an original gun with no finish or worn finish was worth more in the collecting community than an original gun that has been refinished (no longer original). Would you consider a Winchester 1873 with a worn finish to be worth less than the same rifle refinished?

Now THAT'S trolling! Maybe we just can't be bothered to explain something that's been discussed here a hundred times...

Let's see you can't be bothered explaining something that has been disussed here 100 times but everyone can be bothered to tell Bubba7 why he should not refinish it. Well thats makes since now that you have added your two cents.
