I see this old thread has popped up so I will give an update.
I have used the bren a lot with the flat plate and all is well. pumped out 750 rounds at ofast with out any punishment for my shoulder

OFAST's??? Bwaaaaaahaaaaaa! REALLY surprised that Mike permitted enough actual shooting time to allow you to put 750rds down range!!

We -USED- to go for many years starting at the old location but too many fires, too much down time.....NEVER again.
