    Jim,
Just so you know we'll never forget you and what you contributed to us. Not just here on these forums but also for our country.
I'm not sure in the short time that you've been gone if you'd even recognize the world we live in today.
But wanted you to know that your old posts continue to be useful to both older and newer members.
I thank you on behalf of all and Thank you for your friendship.

    Sincerely,
    Charlie

The guys left some kind words. I'm linking the original Dedication Announcement page and the Current Ed Brown page, so the members here on Milsurps can see both.

It's been a busy, crazy year full of happy and sad. A election year that you'd of been proud of. I've had to travel a lot this year dealing with family issues but holding the fort. Recently got Attacked by someone you warned me about from the Carbine Club. All I can say is you were right about him. I look VERY forward to meeting him in person one day!

Many of us are still pulling up your old posts and pictures when needed.

    Miss you Buddy,
    Charlie

This forum has never been the same since Jim passed. For decades on, information from Jim will still be passed on. In private emails with him, I tried (or hoped) to get through to him how important he is to his country and his hobby the M1icon carbine. I just hope he understood that I was way more thrilled to own magazines and other items from his collection, not because they were of course original USGI, but simply because they were owned by him in his collection. That was the value in them to me is that they are/were Jim's. I'm glad I got the opportunity to tell him that it was an honor to know him and that his name will be passed down along with many other heroes through my family and who knows how many other families. I just wish I could have got the opportunity to tell him in person. Godspeed Jim Flavin, we certainly miss you
