Bullet design
I don't know if HBC has custom dies made but Corbin dies are only sold in round numbers for the secant. If I am calculating correctly based on the drawing 2.3" radius/.311" would be a 8.36 secant. It would move the weight back since it is a longer ogive. The image is from the Corbins bullet design website.

There may be a long wait as I am thinking about all the new bans in place in the USA on the exportation of gear as my LGS says that Brownells are not sending anything I have had a Forster .308 FLS on order for 12 months I hope HBC get on to it soon.
Rickyv100 - as Bruce has said the idea in the Mk VII round was there was more weight at the rear and the fast twist of the Lee rifling 1-10 stabilized it very well for long flight and when it hit the nose crumpled which with the CG now upset the base of the projie to tumbled over. This is efficient terminal ballistics at work. I use 168gn Hornady "A" Max in my 308 and they are devastating on light skinned game and have good flight characteristics out to 1000m (I shot this out to 1200m observer watched bullet trace for the transonic stage where all rounds become a little unstable before they go to sleep again this was a field test)

There's no export ban in the USA on reloading components, tools or parts shipments. They are considered controlled shipments by the U.S. Gov't and there are regulatory hoops to jump through. Many manufacturers and sellers simply aren't prepared to do it or don't want to be bothered. Many others just do it anyhow although they are violating ITAR at their own risk. You can have Brownells send your item/items here if you want but I DO charge a fee for the handling and AES ITN submission before shipment. I can ship up to $100 without export licensing being required.

i figured the best way to get info was from the horses mouth...
david has just come back from the US. his tool maker is snowed under, but the project is moving. he's expecting to get the tooling around the end of the year.
the minimum sales lot will be 5000 projectiles. he is expecting them to be about the same price as his 308 match projectiles, so i doubt anyone in Australia will bother with seirra or hornady once these come out. (seirra have gone up at my closest stockist... from 70 cents to 84.4 cents each )

Think they will find that he can drop the minimum order as if open to the world market then Seirras reign will be over then dependent on material costs they may be able to adjust, should see Malcolm Bone Taipan projectiles if he wants to off load his old Lithgow presses or dies for the 303......just a thought

It's December! Any news!!
It's neigh on the end of the year. Is there any news on availability of the HBC's?
"The suspence is nerve wracking"
You will find Malcom Bone's machines will rust away with him. I doubt you will see another 303 from him as they are not a big order for him.
