New member here, found something I think is an old military item at a garage sale and got interested in finding out more about it.

The inches per yards make me think this is gun related, is anyone able to tell me what this is and if it has any value?

The tool is for drifting the front blade of a rifle sight, to adjust the zero for windage. I don't know what type of rifle it was designed for though

I am originally from England, but now live in the USA. I was in the ACF near Carlisle when I was growing up in the mid 1980s. We used Lee Enfield no4 rifles and Brens and occasionally got to shoot L1A1s when we were visiting military bases. This got me interested in British firearms.

evening all my name is bill in I am interested in older guns and rifles. while I an in here I will ask my first question. a while back I came across a 30-40 krag mfg. in 1900. its looks like nice old rifle. most of it I have it apart and cleaned .except the top wood hand guard.the rear screw will not lossen up.i am wondering if I can just gently push the hand guard over the top an through the wood hole ? what I have so far is put long pieces of shim stock between the barrel and steel clamp pieces and also some shim stock between rear sight and wood hole, then gently tap on the long pieces of shim stock ? I have so far been able to move the stock down about 1/8 or so but I stopped at that point for now !!, but it seems like it may work ??? hoping I can get some advice if this may work ? or another way to get the screw out ? possibly take screw driver and grind down to what I need thanks for any and all help you can give me bill p.s. not good at spelling

Started with one Mosin and as you have heard this story before, one has quickly grown to many and spread out from there. SKS's SVT's and even a nice K31 round out my little collection. A new/not so new? member here lol.
After receiving a Mosin Nagant way back 2007 as a Christmas present (my first old milsurp rifle if the Chinese SKS doesn't count) I had signed up on this site, I poked around for a bit things in life got a bit crazy for me at that point, the Nagant got tucked away the following year and I forgot about this site until a few days ago. As things go I still have that old Nagant and it seems I still have an account here
A year a go I drank the cool aid at CGN and bought a Beretta made M1 Garand stripped receiver, over the following 6 months I had a blast locating and installing parts for my soon to be Beretta M1

I'm still looking for a few more PB marked parts and have since located the proper sling
Well that was six months ago that I got this to this point and seeing as this project will soon be coming to an end I decided that I want to something else

I ordered two stripped Lee Enfield receivers from Marstar and they should be here early next week. One is a #4 mk1 and the second is a #1 mk3.

So what madness have I got my self in to with these?
I know I could just go out and purchase something but where is the fun and learning experiences in that?

Hello, My name is Dave my user name backwards. I am a tool and die maker 40yrs from the St Louis area. I think I am going to enjoy being a member of milsurps, I haven't had a chance to do anything on here yet but it appears to be a well thought out site and I'm looking forward to learning and sharing your knowledge and hopefully I can be a benefit to the community.
