Roger, here are 2 photos of Violette Szabos crossroads / juntion,
I took them this summer, the Stone I had not seen befor, it lookes newly planted there.
Hard to read the gold on the stone.

If I remember right it was Pont Remy where she went as a child, it is the Somme area. And the women who represented her I think was Madam Peltier Aime.
There is a small mamorial outside the house where she stayed

I'll research the place as it would be great to find the house & get a photo of the memorial. Pont Remy lies approximately between Abbeville & Amiens. I'm about 35 km due East of Amiens, roughly mid-way between Albert & Bapaume, so it's really not very far.

Thest photos were taken at a place cauled la Julie, it was a small farm / hamlet.
In June and July 1944 the 2nd Batalion of Cpt Pierre Magadoux of of the 1st Brigade of
Colonel Guingouin was stationed there. It is not the locak hunts base. The farm is well out of the way, all the roads in 44 were tracks, and there is woodland all arround,

Roger I will check the info, I am going from memory and a few notes,
    Just checked I am right.
Here is a local paper report.

The mamorial I saw was on the D901 with in 200 yards of the church on the left I think,
    it is only small.

I keep seeing spelling mistakes, sorry, I keep hitting the wrong keys as I type a little too fast for my eyes and finger to keep in step. LOL.
Would Frenchicon be better for any one?
