New to this forum, although I am/was a member of the L-E Forum on milsurp a couple of years ago.
Anyway, my interests are anything that goes 'bang' and especially Lee-Enfields. I'm a member of HBSA and a founder member of LERA (#023), and my L-E collection includes:
1941 BSA No.4 Mk1 (Royal Navy; 4-digit serial)
1943 Lithgow SMLE III*
1944 BSA No.4T Mk1
1945 Lithgow No.6 Mk1/1
1954 BSA No.7 Mk1
1955 Fazakerley No.4 Mk2
1970 L39A1
I am especially interested in the development of the shortened lightened rifle in Australia, so if anyone wishes to contact me on that subject it would be much appreciated. I have examined all of the examples of such rifles in the Australian War Memorial and Lithgow Small-Arms Factory Museum and wish to produce some sort of publication.
Regards,
Ian Frayling

Hello Fellow Collectors
Just wanted to introduce myself.
I live in Ontario Canada and have collected for 30 plus years. War of 1812, US Civil War as well as Martini Henrys and the early SMLE's are my main areas of interests.
Its a pleasure to be a member of your group.
Captain Rogers.

Hello from Virginia
I have read several articles on the forum and wanted to join. I have been collecting milsurp items for close to 40 years. My interests started with my first K98 purchased when I was 13yrs old. Got it from a veteran on my paper route. Collected just about every type of rifle and handgun from WW1 & WW2. Got into Colts and S&W's as well. However for the last 5 or six years I have stuck with UK military firearms. Both long arms and handguns. Oldest is a really nice Martini in 303. Newest is an L1A1. Love Martini Cadets and 22 Enfield's too.
Take Care
Bruce

Hello! This is a new forum for me so I'll tell you a little about myself. I finally got old enough to realize there is a difference between collecting and "accumulating". My serious collecting started with Finnish Mosin Nagants, which I have a basic body of, from the M1891 to the M39. Not long ago, I decided to commemorate the memories of those who served in the Great War, by learning as much about them as I could through literature, memorabilia, and equipment. So far I've acquired three different German rifles (M98, 98az, 88), Austrian (M95), and American (M1917). I also collect the appurtances that go with them, with the goal of having each weapon ready to be issued - sling, cleaning kit, bayonet, ammunition pouch/belt. As you can see, this can lead off in many directions. With such intensive collecting comes the opportunity to lean much. I'm hoping the folks here can help me gain the knowledge in areas where I might be lacking.
