If you want the address of Madam Aimé Peltier, I still have it, She may still be living there, but that is easy to check.

    The life that I have
    Is all that I have
And the life that I have
    Is yours.

    The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours.

    A sleep I shall have
    A rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause.

For the peace of my years
    In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours.

    ------------------

I still want to cry for the loss of life.

Thanks for the info regarding the museum. I think it will definitely be worth a visit if I'm down that way. There is so much history that has already gone to the grave; it is good to see that museums are keeping some of it alive.
Another region well worth a visit is the Vercor!

When Violette Szabo's dropped into Franceicon for the second time, She dropped
at a place called "Clos",near to SUSSAC This is exactly where Georges Guingouin
    had his bace,
I cannot see any reason why the two did not meet.

In his memoirs, Georges Guingouin (companion of the liberation) pays tribute to the heroism of Violette

    translation at the end.

"While she was on a liaison with Jacques Dufour, near Salon-la-Tour, their car fell on an ambush set by the SS, both jumping into the ditch armed with their submachine guns. Alone, soon, Violet's ankle flanks, causing her to suffer horribly, refusing energetically the help of her companion who wants to carry her, the brave English woman asks him to leave alone while At the price of superhuman efforts, she stands up to the pursuers, dropping guns of submachine gun. After a wild race Jacques Dufour manages to slip into the pyre of a small farm, the Montintin. Jacques Dufour is Saved ..... For Violette, prisoner, it will be Ravensbruck .. "

    Read6737,
Nicely put and thanks for your input on the subject matter. The SOE ladies I meet here in the UKicon on a fairly regular basis as part of my other interests, albeit two have died recently in 2016, are a hardy bunch and are reluctant to talk about that particular phase of their lives in occupied Franceicon. In a certain building in London, every single photograph of these brave brave people, lines the walls on three separate floors, so that those following in their footsteps never forget the sacrifice made in so many ways.

However, the ladies did make it clear that not only did they often not get told who their allied counterpart was or even see them up front, they also kept totally separate from each cell of the resistance due to issues we all know about, and got on with their tasks.

They kept themselves very much to themselves because of internal security problems, and as such, many weapons and explosives are still out there, with their locations unknown but only to God, due to the bravery of all who served for the common good of ridding the European continent of the scourge of the Nazi movement and ultimate freedom!
'Tonight my men and I have been through hell and back again, but the look on your faces when we let you out of the hall - we'd do it all again tomorrow.' Major Chris Keeble's words to Goose Green villagers on 29th May 1982 - 2 PARA

while talking about the Frenchicon Resistance arms drops and SOE women we must mention Nancy Wake. (who amongst other things, parachuted into france to liaise with the marquis and arrange arms drops.)

if you don't know about her, her story is well worth a read. an amazing woman.

mrclark303 my thoughts on looking for and finding an arm you would be proud of.
and others if they do a similar thing, or have a rechamber.

If as you say you are in France alot at the moment, I would get a list os clube in the areas that you are visiting and visit them, tell thel what you are after, see what they say.
Again Peters advice “buy the arm not the story“,

If there has been a caliber change there should be a new proof and a stamp with the round size. And you hope a certificate of proof. The arm must be declaired or you could have real problems in getting it on your ticket.
    So check,

303s sporting is easy to make,
8X64s is easy also, and 8X60 is a little harder,
    30x284 not a problem,
6.5x57R could be expensive, but I have made it from 303 and 8X57JRS.
there are a few other calibers but again no real prpblem,
    the problem is load data,

If you pick up a good cheap rechamber and need help then PM me.
I have data I can send you.

here is the link to the site that lists the clubs.

    Read6737,

    Regarding the poem "yours", written for Violet by her boss as the key to a code;

Have you (or anyone else for that matter!) ever heard how this code and the key worked?
I asked this question some time ago on a forum but got no replies.
Is the information on this code classified and never to be released?

Thank you and all for the very interesting contributions to this thread!
