12-011 Garand Picture of the Day

First tanks and troops of the First Cavalry Division enter shell-scarred city of Chunchon after the last communist stronghold on central Korean front fell on March 21, 1951. Walking in center of road are (left to right): Maj. Gen. Charles D. Palmer, commanding the First Cavalry; and Col. Marcel G. Grombez, Portland, Ore., a regimental commander. (AP Photo/Jim Pringle #

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. The MP'S are carrying Garands. You don't see that very often. The Col. Has a granade, don't see that very often either. What about the man on the tank in the beret? Just some of my observations.....Frank

SNAFU, I'm referring to a two star making his way down the road with his Col. at his side. The General had his people create a photo op. Rifles are slung, camera crew off to the side. The conqueror on parade

BTW, the jeep in the background is a Holden ambulance jeep or a customized jeep for the General..

I noticed the jeep in back too Bill. It looks like it's pulling around to pick the brass back up again. You know if there's a jeep anywhere around they wouldn't be walking.
