Question on 1922s
In the last issue ( Aug) of Man at Arms , on the back cover , an auction is listed. The first rifle is a 1922 of some sort ( can't find the mag right now) that is stated to have all the little parts stamped with the last three digits of the serial number. They call it something like a shop sample or such. Has anyone here heard or have such a thing?
Reason I ask is because I have a US&S M1911A1 so marked over on the other forum , and I'm seeking info.
Thanks , Chris

I never heard of this but such a claim should come with documentation.

Well....
just for giggles and laughs , I went to look at the above auction results. There was about 1/2 doz or so .22 Springfields on auction. Most went for 2300 to 3000 , with one at 1000 and one at 3700. The production control rifle went for 5405.00.
Might be a case of buying the story , not the gun. But maybe we just arn't aware of something. Chris
