this is my most recently aquired rifle , and its probably my first thread start at this forum , meant to be more active when i registered but time slips away , i recognise some names and some others look vaguely familiar , hope its of interest to those who have not seen it elsewhere ,

and an interesting novelty of a correct vintage coin in place of the marking disc ,

it holds a place of prominence in my cabinet and has been fitted with correct sling , buttrap cleaning kit , and vintage P1907 bayonet

A quick question from a state side dummy, Is it common place to see a coin in the disc slot and is there any specific reason why someone would do that other than it looks really cool? I've seen this a lot with many guns and always wondered why, perhaps a dating tool or something?-SDH

I think it was just done to fill empty holes because it looked cool
