    * Berthier Chargeurs *

    Different type of Berthier Chargers

    All Chargers were made from folded steel (acier plié)

    Chargeurs Modèle 1890
    Le chargeur est un petit récipient en tôle mince, de la contenance de trois cartouches. On y remarque: les deux côtés, leurs arrondis qui maintiennent les cartouches, les nervures postérieures, qui forment le logement du bourrelet des cartouches, les nervures antérieures, qui empêchent la cartouche du milieu de ballotter latéralement, les deux évidements pour aliéger le chargeur; le fond, son talon pour le crochet de chargeur. Le chargeur est symétrique par rapport à la cartouche du milieu et peut, par suite, être mis en place indifféremment dans les deux sens. Le chargeur est identique au chargeur des armes courtes modèle 1890 et modèle 1892.

    These were produced in a dark black-blueing (bronzé noir) or were coated with gray zinc (zingué gris)

    2nd Type Model 1890 Charger

    These were produced in a dark black-blueing (bronzé noir), black phosphate (phosphaté noir), coated with gray zinc (zingué gris) or left in the white

    Chargeurs Modèle 1916
    Le chargeur est en tôle mince comme celui à trois cartouches. On y distingue: les faces, les nervures, les évidements, le fond et les deux talons. Il est symétrique par rapport à la cartouche du milieu, les deux talons permettent de le mettre en place en introduisant indifféremment l'un ou l'autre côté dans la boîte de culasse. Nota - Bien que le fusil ait été modifié pour employer un chargeur à cinq cartouches, il peut utiliser les anciens chargeurs à trois cartouches. Il est symétrique par rapport à la cartouche du milieu. Les deux talons permettent de le mettre en place en introduisant indifféremment l'un ou l'autre côté dans la boîte de culasse.

    Chargeur Modèle 1916 du deuxième (2ème) type
    2nd Type Model 1916 Charger

    These were made from March 1925 up to 1949 or 1950 and were produced in a dark black-blueing (bronzé noir), black phosphate (phosphaté noir) or were coated with gray zinc (zingué gris)
