    Talking Counter boring muzzle

I was actually looking at the CMPicon page and thinking of ordering a Rack grade Inland ($419 is hard to beat) for my restoration project. I'm not rich, and it would be for looks, not "correctness" with the correct parts. I would just use some decent repro stuff for the flip sight, barrel band, and M1A1icon stock, etc.

With over 3+ on the gauge on the Rack grade, though, I imagine accuracy on the rack grade is dismal. Is there anyone who is counter boring(?) the muzzles to create a new crown like they did with some in arsenal rebuilds? If so, how much does it run. Also, is there a reamer that I can buy or rent and do it myself?

    Thanks in advance.

You never know until you shoot it. I have had sewer pipes in the shop that shot MOA and everybody that saw them was floored. If you want a shooter and not a collector gun and if it patterns like a shot gun then look to Numrich. They sell new reproduction barrels. Any Gunsmith with a lathe can counter bore a barrel. Price should be around whatever they charge for 30 minutes lathe time and setup.

They say 3+ on grading, but that is not always the case.
I have got many racks with less than 2 or even 1.
Got a WRA rack thurs less than 1. Pits, replacement or wrong barrel, Stained or rust on receiver, poor stock. Are other reasons for "Rack"
Got a great Inland w/Underwood barrel mw .5 great shape..
