No.4 SR"b" (Long Branch)

Those of you with a purist disposition, look away now!

I retired last year and decided to treat myself to a new or exceptional No.4 to shoot SR"b" with.
Fultons at Bisley had new built ones in the window sporting new beech/birch? woodwork and new Criterion barrels but I wanted something slightly more special to see me through my last shooting years.
Up until last September I couldn't find anything except the odd new Faz No.4 Mk2, which I did consider, but what ever way you look at the rifle it's still a bog standard arsenal built No.4.

Nothing had turned up I decided to bite the bullet and went to see my mucker in Fultons
Could they build me a no.4 suitable for SR"b" with above average woodwork, and if possible put all the new bits on a Long Branch receiver? (I have a cousin who lives there!)
Further to that I was to supply an AJ Parker Matchmaker front sight and a 4/47 rear sight which I had been sitting on for the right rifle to appear.


I collected it about three weeks ago and was staggered by the quality of woodwork and overall finish it has.
Yesterday was my first chance to shoot it at 300 yards, and it didn't disappoint!
A testament to the skill of both Robert and Colin in Fultons.

Shopping at Fultons is a bit like your wife shopping at Marks and Spencer - or you buying an Omega instead of a £3 watch at the garage. Or like my dad used to say. 'You get just what you pay for'.

And when you mention quality, look at the patch, photo 1 top lne, 3&4 bottom line. Look hard or you'll miss it. That's an Armourers trade test quality.

Got the bottom patch Peter nicely executed, but is that one on the rear top hand guard near the keeper ring between the 1st & 3rd grooves!
