    Jungle Carbine Conversion

I have a #4 Mk 1/2 A., SN 5XXX, Jungle Carbine conversion. I was told my the seller that this was converted for the Cyprus Police. The receiver has these additional markings; CONV No 5 NIC/CYP.

The price was low enough so I did not worry if this was BS. Were these conversions done for the Cyprus Police or were these markings done to turn it into a phony collectable? I am aware of the Golden State Arms conversions of #4s into the Jungle Carbine configuration.

    Thanks

Not a military conversion. There was a discussion about these some time ago and you could probably find it if you searched long enough. It's not Golden State or Navy Arms-if I remember correctly there was some evidence that these were done by a gunsmith in Europe (or was it Australiaicon?) and the NIC/CYP marking had much more to do with people's initials than Nicosia/Cyprus as the advertising of the day proclaimed. If the price was right then don't worry, be happy and have fun with it.
