Barrel run in day
Went to the Collie range today to run in my new 30" HART barrel on my 6.5 x 284 I took along my 308 custom build by Light Force - Ace Precision Rifle Systems (APRS), so I can have 10 minutes of fun doing some shooting whilst the cleaning fluid is working on the new barrel after each shot.
This was 3 shot 100yds off a bench, bi-pod with rear sock (Garnet sand heavy stuff) the load has not been changed from the data Light Force supplied with the COA of the build, the only thing I have done is upped the scope from a 3.5 - 15 x 50 NXS to a 15 - 55 x 52 NXS Comp for 900M shooting at our local club.
Used my MOA ruler I reckon its a .3 group maybe a tad smaller but the .3 is pretty good I have been having a pretty tough time of it with trigger release probably from shooting my mates 460 Weatherby Mag to much this has manifested in my groups getting the 3 o'clock flyer so my confidence in my ability has been somewhat shaken it is good to get a decent group for a change the rifle is brilliant its me sometimes.
The handload is 42gns AR 2206H Hornady 168gn "A" Max 20 thou jump Lap case TTL 50.92mm BR-2 primer.
This is the same rifle I used to win the state invitational Tactical shoot at Swanbourne fired from 600M it was not a cheap rifle but well worth the investment it's a G series and the last Rem-700 they did before going to STILLER actions for future builds. Rifle - Rem 700 G series action blue printed, Basix trigger, #9 Kreiger 26" Match grade Brl 1-10TR, 20MOA rail, Wild dog stock all ceracoated ODG
And just a question what is it about the G series Rem 700's I have heard or read something about this particular series or am I imagining things again.......
No groups from my 6.5 x 284 only used soft loads to run it in 43gns RE-22 behind a 120 SEIRRA 120gn SP.
Thanks in advance P.S target orientation is correct way up, also a good fo par by me the range is in Yards & I marked the target in M oh well its 91.44M then.

Very nice...nothing like building a flinch. Stick with yours. I looked for your range on Google Earth, found the town but could see the firing point.

That's K Jim the Collie range is an hours drive from my place if you pull up google earth again type in Collie when the town appears you will see the airfield at @4:00 o'clock if you look to the Rt a bit and up a bit from the airport at @3:00 o'clock you will see a little rectangular white patch of sand this is where my mate and I go as it only take 10 minutes to set this range up 2 flags thats it.
You can make out where the benches are the silver roof facing east/west.
If you type in Capel (where I live somewhere) bring the map up you will see a brown square at @8 o'clock SSW at 4.88 klms from the town center its next to the Bussell High way near that brown patch you will see the slim rectangular shape facing NNE to SSW this is our main range 100 ~ 1000 meters.

That I saw...stood on the road on Google earth and saw a little red shack with tin roof. And a great big pothole in the road there...

Some of our potholes in Aus are so big you need a road map to get out of them (maybe a hint of bulldust there?)

MOA ruler
Yep it is a quick use ruler that is done up in YDS & MTRS with other bits of information on it they are available on fleabay takes the guess work out of it goes to either 500yds or 500mtrs.
Fairly cheap $20/AU I think maybe a bit less thing is you have to look after them as the ruler can easily lose the markings not the thing you throw in the bottom of a toolbox full of spanners.
