Can anyone provide any details (nomenclature, time period, etc) of the rifle rack pictured?

    I found Bill Ricca's page:
    Small Arms Racks

From that, it looks like either an M1 or M1A1 Small Arms Rack. I'm guessing it's the earlier M1 model since the M1A1 rack is described as being able to hold M14's and my M1Aicon doesn't want to fit (M1 fits perfectly).

I do not know what rack it is but it sure looks nice. Where did you find it? Is there more? I would like a rack like that.

The rack came out of an old high school. Probably was once used by JROTC. It was about to be thrown away so I saved it from going out with the trash!

    Great find!

Looks like a perfect excuse to buy 19 more Garands.

    Thumbs down

Just like the rack which WAS at the Smithsonian Museum of American History. Alas, the rack, along with 20 M1icon Garands is no longer featured in the barracks scene on the third floor.
