help identifying scabbard markings
Hello all,
I have a scabbard for a 17'' bayonet that I need some help with. I'm not sure what it goes to but here's what it looks like:
Black leather, has the belt hook, three rivets at the throat in an inverted triangle. It looks like an American scabbard but I was thrown for a loop with the small "GF" stamp in an oval below the staple on the front of the metal tip and another above the staple on the back of the metal portion on the top. Forgive my lack of proper terminology as I am not a full fledged bayonet guy and am still learning. Any help identifying this would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks!

The following website may be of some help.
Bayo Points 11
I have also attached a picture of a P 1907 Bayonet and Scabbard. Sometimes these scabbards were very black in color.

Greg, that was very helpful, thank you very much. Looks like I have the second variation with the lettering on it that spells out what looks like "TOPP" to me. couldn't really make it out in the photo but it matches by scabbard. Thanks for the info! That makes me rest easy that I have the right scabbard for my bayo.
