7.62x59 Ammo Is it Czech? Could it be 7.62x54?
I have a crate of 7.62x59 ammo. I believe it is Czech
. What can you tell from the crate labeling? With what rifle can this ammo be used?(s)? Is it equivalent to .303? 30.06 etc? It is FMJ, silver tip, steel core I believe. My best guess is that it is equivalent to 7.62x54 and good for shooting in Mosins.
If I choose to sell the crate (800 rounds), what would be a fair asking price? Shipping could be a tad expensive. There's also a dozen or so "stripper clips" as well.
What can you all tell me? I'm interested to learn and whether I am correct about it being usable for Mosin rifles and carbines.

It is standard 7.62X54 ammo. Silver tip meaning a steel case, steel bullet and steel core (aka) an LPS round. Good shooting ammo corrosive primed. Packaged in 20 round boxes without clips. Those if original com-block made are worth a few dollars by themselves. The ammo would sell now for about $300 maybe more for the full case plus shipping.

"59" is the cartridge designation that is used for 7.62x54r. I think they also use "T65" for 7.62x51.
