Need Help Type 2 rear sight
Can someone tell me the trick to disassemble a type 2 rear sight. I know they come apart because I've seen pics of them apart. Never messed with one. If someone has some pictures or can tell a simple man like me how to do it, I sure would appreciate it. You got a big adjustment screw on the right and a small straight slot screw on the left. I dont want to brake anything.

They were designed to be replaced as a unit, not to be "repaired".
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

The windage Knob wont clear my sight puller I just bought by about .030. If I cant remove the large windage knob, I'm going to have to get some material milled off of the puller I just bought.

Rusty, I would not take it apart. Clean it as is, gun scrubber the tar out of it. Oil it and it should be good to go. If it has a lot of corosion it may need to be replaced. JMHO.....Frank

Rustship,
I'd modify the puller, or return it. (jmo)

No returns on the puller, and it was clear in E-Bay. I'm going to have to mill some off of both top side fixture's for a type 2 sight to clear. It was probably just designed to install and remove flipper sights. If you notice on a type 2 the windage knob hangs below the flat level of the dovetail, Inventor of this tool did not allow for that, therefore if I mill .100 off the top's I can get it to work. I will upload some pictures so you guys wont have to go through the trouble Im having. Tried to save a few bucks, and look what it got me.
