    71L block Long Branch sniper question

    I'm interested in some info;

    Does anyone have, or have record of a 71L block sniper below serial number 71Lx200?

    original scope serial if available please.

    Oh yeah, if you have rifle 71Lx597, your original scope and rings are out there still...if you have the rings and scope, the rifle is out there in the US.

    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Hello partner …

    You might want to try our Google CSE custom search engine located in the top right corner below the words "Advanced Search". It only searches our site using Google techniques and can be quite efficient. For example, in your case, type in the words 71L and see what happens ..

    I checked and there are posts covering that topic…

    Regards,
    Doug

    I'd share my LB/REL list with you...for your LB/REL list as there's a few on it that you could complete... ;-)

    You don't have any 71L block serial numbers below x200?

    I just ran my estimated production numbers a different way

    Using the published number of 71 ('42-'42) + my estimate of '44-'46 production and came up with 1581, really close to Law's 1588 number

    My previous estimate from observed serials was 1614

    That was based on an estimate of 96 pre-'44 rifles based on observed serials.

    17 of 71 observed pre-44 serial numbers= 24% of production.

    but only have 3.9% observed 71L numbers, none (so far) under 71Lx200
