    Unhappy Replica No.32 Scopes

I have read several posts referring to the fitment of a replica No.32 scope when building a replica No.4 T rifle

Is there now a legitimate supplier of such a beast?

If available what is the quality of the replica?

Does one need to simply bid on ebay for a questionable "original" scope in the hope of securing a replica?

    Thanks

    Paul

Mabe try calling Island Accuracy in Tasmania, they did a repro sniper on their website and had one on it. The price of the finished job suggests to me that the scope cost less than the $1000 my mate got his for a while ago(bought on ebay, sold as original... Scumbag)

    replica no 32

Those of you down under, recently in shotgun news-- august 23 2010 issue they built another replica sniper and used a Weaver Classic 1-3.5 by 20. this scope goes for around 175 american on line under the title weaver classic. and it is very attractive. I bought a mount from sarco and after a chinese scope i was lucky to find a weaver k 4 at a gun shop for 50 bucks.
Its ugly and its got dust and crap in it but omg the gun is accurate. I accurized the gun with cardboard shim stock and shot several (100)trial and error rounds to eliminate stringing of bullits before i got it to the sweet spot. Now im not sure if I want to get this look alike weaver. u have to use alot of kentucky windage with a non ranging telescope but I guess you could install a modern scope will mildots. I just put weaver classic in a search on google and got several hits. the cheapest was 170 ish.

After a brief spurt on ebay a few months ago the replicas haven't made a reappearance. Maybe people are contacting the seller direct and it's taking up all his capacity? Someone on here bought one and seemed happy with the quality: Link below.

So far they've been easy to spot for those in the know...who knows if design revisions are afoot. For the originals the prices aren't too earth shattering at present - a Mk 2 went for £850 recently...a lot - but it's always nice to have an original - after all they'll never be worth less than that I would imagine, if you catch my drift.
