93 spanish mauser
i bought a 93 spanish mauser(1922) in 7 mauser on a online auction at $80/shipping included. it will be a project rifle. it is a mismatched bolt, action and barrel. the stock is "new" but bubba had a chainsaw and will to do it. my best bet will be either boyd's or richard's gunstock. that will be last.
i'll do a dayton traister trigger group to make it cock on open(instead of cock on closing). the original trigger was stoned beyond belief. bubba's "stoning the seer" was akin to dropping boulders on the infantry trying to scale the wall. bubba also had his hand in trying to bend the bolt. i'll give you chance if bubba did or did not bend the bolt correctly? well, bubba did not bend the bolt correctly. my gunsmith will laugh but he will do it correctly or will buy another bolt body. he'll do a d&t for a scope mount. bubba also did the barrel. bubba cut it off to 21" (he did not crown it) but he never cleaned the barrel. bubba would find the barrel (after he cleaned it) to be trashed. he would also find the rifling to be smooth as a baby's bottom about half way to "muzzle". the rifle will be a douglas or green mountain barrel. i think that 22" barrel length is about right for the 7x57. what bothers me is sporting or a mannlicher stock?
oh, and i'll do a two position safety that dayton will supply.

No much left of her, but a great project rifle! Are you going to leave it as a 7X57?

7mm is an excellent all around caliber for most North American game. Accurate as heck also. Expensive build you're planning.
