    Question Israeli 98k Mauser Bayonet

Salutations. I signed up for this site because I am trying to help sell an Israeli 98k Mauser Bayonet for a Hollywod actor friend of mine who's dad was in the Israeli military back in the 1940s. I do not know a lot about this bayonet except that it looks like its in excellent condition for being this old. I'm considering buying it myself. Everything looks like its in working condition with its spring loaded button and scabbard. It has a serial number of #17857. I do not know how to post a picture of it yet but I will research this matter. I haven't posted it up on ebay yet but I am also researching this avenue as well. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations please let me know. I thought this might be of interest to someone on this site? It would be nice to sell this to someone who can match it with type of rifle it belongs to. I haven't found that much information online about it nor can I read the Israeli inscriptions on it.

It is called an Israeli Mk.IA. Price range according to Peterson's is $30-80.

Some are reworked German bayonets, some are new production Israeli bayonets. It was used on German K98icon's in Israeli service although it would likely fit on most mauser rifles of which several types would also have been used by Israel including the Czechicon VZ24.

Well, I bid $30 and was both outbid and didn't meet the minimum bid.

I realize my Peterson's is a year old but I don't think they went from $80 at the max to $275 in that short a time span.

They usually go in the $80-$100 range. I wouldn't pay more than that, and then only if I really needed it.

I did think it was pretty interesting and I did not have an Israeli bayonet so I upped my bid at the end. Got it for less than Peterson's $80 (slightly) so I figure I did ok. Waiting for it to arrive.

$78.77, I did not specifically bid that but that's what it came up at.
