Looks like it could have been headed for the Enforcer market or similar with the D marking you describe!!
Strange bolt number too

Started out life as an Envoy #498. Matching bolt correctly proofed. It's been revamped into a one piece with a target trigger. Has been rebarrel "D 70" 1970 replacement L42 profile barrel. The chap that did the conversion has stamped the barrel on the underside just ahead of the forearm. I would suspect that this shot very well...competitors were always looking for an edge...they weren't into collectibles. Disheartening to see as there are not a lot of Envoys around just like their cousin the "Enforcer". Well worth the bid price for just the parts!

The marking on the underside of the barrel is an import mark. I suspect it was butchered long before it was imported to the USA.
