I would think that would be a lot of rifle for a little girl to handle.

Don't underestimate "little girls". I worked with a MCP* who had a 13 yr old daughter who decided that she wanted to go deer hunting. Thinking to discourage her, he outfitted her with a 12 gauge and slugs. Her first target shot knocked her down. She got up and fired again and again until she got the hang of it. Later that fall he was proud as punch, as he showed around the photo of her with her first white tail.

I only speak from experience. I taught recruits when we still carried F.N.s and throught the C7 and onward. Not just a few, I figure 2600 troops. I can't ballpark how many were female but as a rule, they had more problems with the rifles than we liked. With the C8 carbine coming to common service and now the C7A2 with the collapsable butt made many of those things disappear. Neither do I under estimate, nor do I set presidence in a rare exception of one girl. Good shooting. Well done. I know there are NRA shooters that are young women but again that would be an exception. Compare the numbers.
