Repairing cracks in stocks
Recently picked up a Ishapore 2A. The gun is in very good condition. However, after shooting it a few times, a crack has developed on the side of the stock right in front of the trigger guard. I have no experience in repairing something like this and would love some advice.

Hi GLP,
Would you be able to post pictures? It'd be easier to help. It'd be ideal to first determine the cause of the crack so you wouldn't repair it only to see the problem happen again after all the hard work.

Sorry it's taken so long to reply. I've been down with a serious flu bug and haven't been out of bed in several weeks. I can't get a good picture of the crack. It appears to be more of a break now anyway. I think I'm going to try for a replacement stock for it. Where the break is at seems to be a high stress area when shooting and this thing shoots to sweet not to take it out from time to time. Thanks for trying to help.

No problem. It makes sense replacing the stock if one can be found; sometimes that's not an option!

Found one on Gunbroker. I've got my dad repairing the old one to have it around for collecting value. I also purchased a hunting stock for it just to have in case.
