I'd like to find some of those "new issue M1icon's in the $700 range" that he talked about.

You have no idea how many other cops I talked to (both when I was a Deputy and carried one as an LEO trunk weapon, or now when I carry it in my patrol contract) who think it uses a pistol round. When I tell them it is 1950 FPS and 950 lbs ME, they are totally shocked. I point out that numerically, more people were terminated or wounded by M1icon Carbines in WW II, Korea, Vietnam, and banana wars, than were ever killed by the 5.56!

HHMMM looks like the article is several years old. Hence perhaps the "low price" listed for the rifle in question. Although I did run across a Quality Carbine for $650 recently.
I do like the ballistics of the carbine, at least on paper. And everyone who shoots it, falls in love!!

The only moose my Dad ever shot was with an M1icon carbine. This was in Norwayicon in 1947. Times were tough after the war, but they did have a few M1 carbines that had been air-dropped to the Resistance, along with plenty of hardball ammo. As I remember him telling it, he shot it between the eyes and it dropped like a stone. Of course, shooting it anywhere else would probably have had a different outcome! I seem to recall there was no open season at the time, but I'm sure they ate every bite right down to the soup-bones!

I killed a 200 pound Blacktail deer with one heart-lung shot at almost 100 yards with an M1icon Carbine. I was using R-P 110 JSP, IIRC.. I was very impressed by the damage and exit hole!
