Colt Lightning small frame

Hey all..........need a little help. I recently acquired this nice little Colt. Was getting ready to take it out for a drive and saw that the rounds will not feed up into the chamber. I loaded half a dozen .22 short in to the magazine and worked the action. Nothing happened as far as feeding a round into the receiver. All parts seem to be moving as they are supposed to. I will try to post some pics......but in the mean time maybe I'm just missing something obvious. Any ideas??????? thanks Rancho113
