laser bore sighter
Hi all
how good are the laser bore sighters for setting up a PU scope and are they worth their while.
the posts in the scope seem to be a little off centre and was wondering if there were any tips on sighting the scope.
i see the nagant bore sighters are double the price of ny other calibre on ebay so anyone selling a spare i would be intrested
regards
douglas

Remove bolt. Get behind rifle and look down bore whilst the rifle is in a rest of some sort. (I've even used a pile of pillows on occasion). Center the bore on some distant object and then, w/o disturbing the rifle, check the position of the post. Adjust as required. Cost- nada.
Also works if the iron sights are dialed in- In fact, if you know the sights are dead on, then you can forego the peering through the bore exercise. Just aim the sight at a distant object, fix the rifle in place and see if the scope's pointer is located at the same place. Less head movement required, too!
If you have trouble keeping things stable working alone, try getting assistance to move dials or whatnot.
It really does work better than any store bought boresighter once you get a little practice!
