I am not to sure whether they are military related but if I had to guess, I'd say they were welding goggles.

Maybe, WW1 splinter shield for a sniper or machinegunner they did use crude steel body armour.

They are arieal gunner flak goggles
Google flak goggles and you will see a pic of several different types

Very nice. From what I found, they were used by the RAF in WWII.
