This mans story has always fascinated me. Regardless of your view of the causes and outcome of WWII in the Pacific the devotion to duty of this man is admirable.

Had read he shot and killed some poor Philippine unarmed civilians in cold blood for no reason while roaming and hiding. Never though he was any different then any of the other Japanese soldiers that did that. No hero in my opinion, Ray
