Wow….Another amazing year is drawing to a close and it‘s time for my annual Christmas post! I doesn’t feel like a year has passed since I made this post last year but we have grown a lot for sure. The depth of knowledge on this sight is awe inspiring. I’m not sure there is another sight on the web who’s knowledge base is as vast and varied as this one. I thank each and every one of you for my continued education.
Last year I went into great depth thanking all those who contribute to the Enfield forum by name. This year I wish to single out only two individuals for special thanks above the rest for two reasons:
1) The list remains much the same and includes the regular Moderation staff, Contributing and Advisory Panel members and regular members who chime in on a daily basses to help so many people with their questions.
2) Despite my best efforts I’m sure I missed someone last year who deserved to be on the list and I don’t wish to repeat that mistake this year.
You all know who you are and all I can say is Thank You!!
So without any further fan fair the first person I’d like to single out for special thanks this year is Mr. Ian Skennerton. Thank You sir for your dedication to bringing the history and stories about not only the Lee Enfield but so many other Empire service arms to the forefront in your many fine books. Thank You also for joining us here on Milsurps.com and for the time and knowledge you have donated. Your efforts are very much appreciated by we Enfield nutters and you have my deepest thanks and several hundred of my hard earned Canadian dollars.
Secondly and much more predictably I’d like to send a special thanks out to Badger (Doug) and his wife ~Angle~. Simply put without Badger and ~Angle’s~ efforts we wouldn’t have this home on the web to share our mutual interest. It’s been nice to see what has evolved from that small nucleus over on CGN. Thank You Doug for all you have done for us.
So for those of you who celebrate Christmas let me say Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and for those who don’t I wish you the best of the season.
I’ll close this with a quote from that timeless Brit. Comedian Dave Allen (Dave Allen at large)
“Good Night and may your god go with you”
